A Clifton Village institution, brought into the digital age.
The Albion has long held a place at the heart of Clifton Village, known for its Sunday roasts, everyday dining, drinks and private events. This project centred on rebuilding the website: in April 2026 we designed and launched a clean, modern site aimed at making booking simple and reflecting the pub’s standing in the local area. The rise in search performance came as a result of that work, not the reason behind it. This case study covers the first month post-launch, 17 April to 20 May 2026.

One of Bristol’s most competitive local markets.
Hospitality search in Clifton Village is packed, pubs, restaurants, bars and venues all competing for the same high-value terms, Sunday roast, pub food, private dining, venue hire. Migrating an established site brought its own risk too, rankings, indexing and years of link value can suffer if the move isn’t handled with care. The previous site carried redirect chains leading nowhere, a broken page, and several URLs Google wasn’t indexing, along with a large but low quality backlink profile built up over time.
The job was to give the pub a site that finally matched its reputation, fast, well built, and easy to book through, while keeping its hard-earned local visibility intact. Stronger search performance followed naturally once those fundamentals were in place.
We handled the relaunch with care, keeping what the pub had already built while giving the site a proper refresh.
Modern microsite with mobile-first design and clearly defined conversion paths
Fully self-managed platform with CRM integration and sub-second load speeds
+47 keywords in the top 10 ranking in first 30 days
Tristan and his company redesigned our company website. It has produced exception results – online enquires have gone up 3 fold, bookings have increased 33%, private dining bookings have increased 11%. These are all qualified stats! Pretty impressive. What is most impressive is the increase in Google rankings, and searches – in a time when hospitality is not where it was any spend has to be critically analysed with return on investment. We did it and it was the best decision we made in 10 years.
If anyone ever want to contact me Tristan has my details and I am happy for him to forward on.
In summary I will say this – be ahead of the game not behind it.

A clean relaunch that paid off straight away.
What matters most is that The Albion finally has a website that reflects the pub itself, easy to find, easy to book, and genuinely pleasant to use. The results showed almost immediately, more people finding the pub, more visits to the site, and a clear rise in bookings. A stronger home online, and more covers through the door because of it.
